The processes and procedures used to prepare root canals have been completely transformed by rotary endodontic instruments. The field of rotary instrumentation has advanced significantly during the last 20 years, thus staying "up-to-date" requires constant work. The fundamentals of rotary instrumentation and magnification will be covered in this course, along with more modern file systems and preparation methods that can be used to successfully and efficiently construct root canals. Students and dental professionals who are relatively new to rotary endodontics, want to review basic ideas, or want to learn about current developments in instruments are the target audience for this course. There are five modules in the course framework. We start by giving a brief overview of rotary endodontics, contrasting the preparations made with hands versus rotating instruments. Next, we discuss the value of using magnification tools and study key optic principles that help endodontists choose the right tool for their practice.
